General Terms and Conditions (AGB)
§ 1 Scope of Application
(1) These General Terms and Conditions (AGB) apply to all business relationships between the International German Office (hereinafter referred to as the “Provider” or “we”) and consumers as well as entrepreneurs (hereinafter referred to as the “Customer”) concerning the booking of online consultations on the website www.international-german-office.de.
(2) A consumer, within the meaning of these Terms and Conditions, is any natural person who enters into a legal transaction for purposes that are predominantly neither commercial nor self-employed. An entrepreneur is a natural or legal person or a legal partnership who, when entering into a legal transaction, acts in the exercise of their commercial or self-employed professional activities.
(3) These AGB apply to all contracts concluded via the website unless different conditions have been agreed upon in writing between the parties.
§ 2 Conclusion of Contract, Storage of the Contract Text
(1) The presentation of online consultations on the website does not constitute a legally binding offer but rather a non-binding invitation to book.
(2) The contract is concluded by successfully completing the booking procedure on the website and receiving a confirmation via email. The contracting party is International German Office, Mittelberg 3, 37085 Göttingen, Email: info@international-german-office.de.
(3) The booking data will be sent to the Customer by email. The AGB can be viewed at any time on the website. The contract text is not permanently stored.
(4) The contract and the booked appointment only become valid once full payment has been received by the Provider. After checking the receipt of payment, the Customer will receive a corresponding confirmation by email.

Description: We are happy to discuss how we can shape a successful collaboration. In this 30-minute conversation, we present our services, address your individual ideas, and possibly develop initial approaches for a sustainable partnership that can create added value.
(2) The Provider may integrate third-party providers, such as interpreters or technical platforms, within the scope of the consultation services. These third parties act on their own responsibility. The Provider assumes no liability for their performance or availability.
§ 4 Prices, Payment Terms, Due Date
(1) All prices stated on the website are final prices in euros (EUR) and include the statutory VAT, unless otherwise stated.
(2) Payment is made via the payment methods specified on the website. Payment is made in advance by PayPal or credit card. Full payment is due immediately upon conclusion of the contract. A booked appointment only becomes valid once the full payment has been received by the Provider.
(3) A free initial consultation can only be used once per case.
(4) For customers outside Germany, additional fees, taxes, or customs duties may apply, which the customer must bear. The Provider assumes no liability for exchange rate fluctuations or delays in international payment transactions. Customers from abroad are responsible for complying with their respective national regulations and requirements.
§ 5 Provision of Services and Technical Requirements
(1) The consultations are conducted at the booked time online via the communication platforms provided by the Provider (e.g., Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, telephone).
(2) The Customer is responsible for ensuring the technical requirements for participating in the online consultation, including a stable internet connection and suitable hardware.
(3) If the Customer does not attend the appointment or does not meet the technical requirements, there is no entitlement to a refund or compensation for the lost time.
(4) The Customer is not permitted to record or otherwise store the consultation sessions unless prior written consent has been obtained from the Provider.
(5) The Provider assumes no liability for technical problems or failures of the communication platforms provided (e.g., Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams) that lie outside its sphere of influence.
(6) The Customer undertakes to communicate respectfully during the consultation session and to follow the applicable rules of conduct. In the event of gross violations, the Provider is entitled to terminate the session without any entitlement to a refund.
§ 6 Cancellation and Rescheduling
(1) A cancellation of paid consultation services is possible free of charge up to 2 hours before the agreed appointment. In case of later cancellation, the fee will not be refunded.
(2) Rescheduling is generally not possible unless the Provider agrees to it out of goodwill or due to exceptional circumstances.
(3) If the Provider has to cancel the agreed appointment for reasons not attributable to the Customer, the Customer will be informed in good time and an alternative appointment or a refund of the costs will be offered.
(4) If the Customer cancels in accordance with paragraph (1), the amount already paid will be refunded to the original payment method within 14 days of receiving the cancellation.
(5) In the event of prolonged technical disruptions or force majeure (e.g., internet outages, natural disasters, pandemic-related restrictions), the Provider is entitled to postpone the consultation to a later date. A refund will not be made if the service can be provided at a later time.
§ 7 Liability
(1) The Provider is only liable for damages caused by intentional or grossly negligent behavior. In cases of slight negligence, the Provider is only liable for breaches of essential contractual obligations (cardinal obligations).
(2) Liability is limited to the typical contractual, foreseeable damage.
(3) The consultations do not constitute legal advice within the meaning of the Legal Services Act (RDG). For legal issues, the Customer is referred to qualified attorneys.
(4) The Provider assumes no liability for the results of the consultations or their implementation by the Customer or the authorities. The Customer alone is responsible for implementing the consultation results. The Provider assumes no liability for the outcomes or actions taken by the Customer. The Provider’s consultation services serve only to provide support and information. It is expressly pointed out that these services do not replace official, medical, legal, or other binding decisions or advice.
(5) The Provider is not liable for the services or results of third-party providers involved in the consultations or services, such as interpreters, platform providers, or external service providers. Responsibility for the proper provision of these services lies solely with the respective third-party providers.
(5) The Provider assumes no liability for processing times, decisions, or other actions by authorities related to the consultation services, such as visa applications, recognition procedures, or other official processes. Delays or rejections by authorities are beyond the Provider’s control.
(6) The Provider assumes no liability for content-related, technical, or organizational errors that may occur in the context of the consultation services or the information provided, unless these are due to intentional or grossly negligent behavior. This applies in particular to consultation content created based on the information provided by the Customer.
(7) The Provider assumes no liability for damages caused by the Customer, e.g., by incomplete or incorrect information during the consultation or by disregarding recommended steps.
(8) The Provider’s consultation services regarding medical issues, visa matters, or other official processes are supportive in nature and do not replace medical, legal, or official advice or decisions. The Provider is not liable for final decisions by authorities, medical institutions, or other institutions, or for the duration or outcome of such processes.
§ 8 Right of Withdrawal
(1) Consumers have a right of withdrawal according to the following provisions:
Right of Withdrawal
You have the right to withdraw from this contract within 14 days without giving any reason. The withdrawal period is 14 days from the day of the conclusion of the contract.
To exercise your right of withdrawal, you must inform us, International German Office, Mittelberg 3, 37085 Göttingen, Email: info@international-german-office.de, by means of a clear statement (e.g., a letter sent by post or email) of your decision to withdraw from this contract.
To meet the withdrawal deadline, it is sufficient that you send the notice of exercising the right of withdrawal before the end of the withdrawal period.
Consequences of Withdrawal
If you withdraw from this contract, we will refund all payments we have received from you without undue delay and at the latest within 14 days from the day on which we received notice of your withdrawal. We will use the same means of payment you used for the original transaction unless expressly agreed otherwise with you.
(2) The right of withdrawal expires if the booked consultation has been fully performed and the Customer has explicitly agreed that the Provider begins the performance of the service before the expiry of the withdrawal period.
(3) For digital services provided directly after booking (e.g., access to digital content or files), there is no right of withdrawal once the Customer has expressly agreed to commence performance before the withdrawal period ends. For digital services provided immediately after the conclusion of the contract, the right of withdrawal expires as soon as the Customer explicitly consents to immediate performance of the service.

§ 9 Data Protection
(1) The Provider processes the Customer’s personal data to fulfill contractual obligations in accordance with the provisions of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG).
(2) For more information on how we handle personal data, please refer to our Privacy Policy available on the website.
(3) Personal data is processed solely for the purpose of providing the services and fulfilling legal requirements. Data is only disclosed to third parties if necessary to fulfill the contract or if the Customer has given explicit consent. Personal data processed in the context of official procedures (e.g., visa applications) will be transmitted to the respective authorities only with the Customer’s explicit consent. The Provider assumes no liability for data loss or misuse by third parties.
§ 10 Confidentiality
(1) Both parties undertake to treat all information obtained in the course of the business relationship as confidential and not to disclose it to third parties unless there is a legal obligation to disclose.
(2) The Customer is not permitted to share the content of the consultations with third parties or use it for commercial purposes without prior written consent from the Provider.
(3) Information provided by the Provider in the context of the consultation may only be used by the Customer for the intended purpose and may not be passed on to third parties unless there is written permission to do so.
§ 11 Alternative Dispute Resolution
(1) The Provider is not obliged and not willing to participate in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board.
(2) The European Commission provides a platform for online dispute resolution (OS) available at: https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
(3) Using the online dispute resolution platform does not replace legal proceedings. The Provider reserves the right to assert legal claims independently of this.
§ 12 Final Provisions
(1) Should individual provisions of these AGB be invalid or become invalid, the validity of the remaining provisions shall remain unaffected.
(2) For contracts with entrepreneurs, German law applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. For consumers, the law of their habitual residence applies insofar as it involves mandatory consumer protection regulations.
(3) If the Customer is a merchant, the place of jurisdiction is the Provider’s place of business.
(4) The contract language is German. Translations of these AGB are for information purposes only. In the event of contradictions, the German version is decisive.
